Extensive Master’s Work  in Guidance and Counseling and Gifted Education

I came to CDS in the fall of 2010. Prior to that I taught 3rd grade and was a Reading Intervention teacher in Fayette County.

I also taught first grade, third grade and fourth grade in Maryland prior to moving to Kentucky in 2005.

Over the course of the past 20+ years , I have taught in a variety of elementary classroom settings in 1st through 5th Grades.  I  also have experience as a preschool director and as a reading interventionist.

Simply put, I love teaching at Capital Day School because I am given the freedom to create a learning environment that allows my students the opportunity to explore, collaborate, make decisions and solve problems.  I love building on a child’s natural sense of curiosity as they become totally engaged in their work and in trying new things without the risk of failure.  I love being able to create an environment where my students love to learn!
