FIFTH AND SIXTH GRADE FIELD STUDY
Past Fifth/Sixth Grade Field Studies have included the following destinations:
Bradford Woods
At Bradford Woods, located in Martinsville, Indiana, students will experience a dynamic outdoor education component as they are immersed in learning with the help of talented naturalists. Learn more about Bradford Woods here.
U.S. Space and Rocket Center Huntsville, Alabama
Activities include Astronaut Training Simulators, Parachute Activity, Air Rocket Activity, Land Survival, two IMAX Movies, Flight Physiology activities, and three hours of History. Click here to find out more.
SEVENTH GRADE FIELD STUDY
Chicago, Illinois
Seventh grade students supplement their arts, social studies, and science curricula as they spend three days/two nights visiting museums and other selected sites of interest in Chicago, Illinois. For more information.
The purpose of the Middle School field studies is to provide learning opportunities that extend beyond the classroom and complement students’ courses of study within a reasonable budget for parents. During the four years of Middle School, students will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of field experiences.
EIGHT GRADE FIELD STUDY
Marine Lab, Key Largo, Florida
The eighth grade class participates in a marine ecology program developed by MarineLab, owned and operated by the non-profit organization, Marine Resources Development Foundation. The site offers easy access to seagrass, mangroves, and the only coral reef off the continental United States. Through four days of hands-on investigation and snorkeling field trips, preceded by biologist-led discussions focusing on the ecology and biology of these unique communities, students are provided learning opportunities that extend far beyond the classroom.
