Beth Shera

8th Grade English Teacher

Education:  AB English, Davidson College; MS Education, University of Kentucky

Work experience:  Beth has taught in a variety of educational settings, including a preschool in Lexington, Kentucky; an outdoor classroom in Mentone, Alabama; and a summer science camp in New Brunswick, Canada.  Before joining the faculty at Capital Day School, she was employed as a writer and editor for an investigative services company based in Atlanta, Georgia.

Why you enjoy working at CDS:  The administration, faculty, and staff at Capital Day School are top-notch.  They care passionately about all aspects of their students' growth and well-being, and they work together closely to ensure that students' individual needs are being met.  The small class sizes at Capital Day allow teachers to get to know students on a personal level, fostering an extremely close-knit community.  Parental involvement is also impressive, and teachers at Capital Day are fortunate to be the recipients of that support.
